Options Explanations

Medical Alert Pendant:
Pendants are available that can be worn as a necklace, and when activated, send a medical emergency signal to the monitoring station to get you the help you need. These are also available in "wrist watch" form! These panic buttons are wonderful for the elderly or people with health problems.

Fire/Smoke Detection:
Smoke detectors can be installed that notify the monitoring station of a fire emergency. They send a signal to the monitoring station whether you are at home or not! This means if you are home when a fire occurs, you can concentrate on getting your loved ones to safety instead of calling the fire department. Also, when you are not at home, you can rest assured that if a fire were to start the fire department would be dispatched.

Cellular Back-Up:
With burglars getting smarter these days, this is a great option. Cellular back-up is just that, back-up. If your telephone lines are cut, signals from your security system are transmitted via the cellular towers to the monitoring station. The monitoring station receives the signals and responds to them in the same manner as those signals sent through the telephone lines.

Telephone Access Control:
This feature enables you to turn your security system on/off over any telephone anywhere. If you are away and need to let a service person into your home, you do not have to give out your access code. Simply call your system and de-activate it via the telephone. This option is also great for home automation (below).

Home Automation:
This option is one of our favorites! It enables you to make your home have that "lived-in" look when you are away. Used with the Telephone Access Control mentioned above, it is possible for you to call your security system up and turn on/off lights, televisions, radios, etc. at any time. This way, you can vary the time that the items are on, just as you would if you were actually home. This is also ideal for turning on a light when you are coming home late so you do not enter a dark home. With home automation, the possibilities are limitless.

Intercom/Doorbell System:
Visitors can talk to you from outside your home through your doorbell/intercom. This means you can tell sales people "not interested" without even opening your door! A great security option and time saver!

Two-Way Voice Verification:
If your alarm is tripped, this feature enables you to talk directly to the monitoring station operator "hands-free" from anywhere in the home! The operator will speak directly to you from a speaker(s) in the home rather than calling on the telephone. When used with a medical pendant, you can activate the alarm and then talk over the speaker indicating that you need help. They will stay on line with you until help arrives! The most common question about this feature is "Can the monitoring station listen-in at any time?" The answer is "No, the security system has to be tripped in order to activate the speaker."
