About Us
Dana Hurlbut is the owner of our business. He and his wife, Betty, began Central Security & Electronics, Inc. in 1988. Dana had a successful security business in Stuart, FL, but wanted a change of pace and moved to Highlands County in 1986. He attributes the success of his company to his "obsession" with quality. Central Security uses only quality products and employs quality people to install and service your system. Dana believes that training is a key factor that sets Central Security's employees apart from other alarm companies. When a new technician is hired, he/she receives on-the-job training by our Installation Manager/Crew Leader for several months to learn Central Security's installation procedures. All of Central Security's technicians are BASA/FASA Certified by the Alarm Association of Florida and receive continuing education every two years. They also receive specialized training throughout the year to keep the company abreast of new and upcoming products. On-Going Relationship
Once you have a security system installed, your relationship has just begun with that alarm company. It is very important to make sure you are dealing with a reputable company and quality people. Unlike many businesses, security companies have a lot of personal contact with their customers after the sale. You may often need to make changes to your emergency call list and system access codes. If you are a Highlands County resident, you've probably seen our yellow vans, yard signs and decals. What you may not know is that Dana believes strongly in supporting our local community by advertising with our schools, churches, chambers, etc. Central Security advertises through all the usual media, but realizes that a happy customer is our best form of advertising.
